Being a Member

Membership in the Junior League of Cleveland offers a meaningful way to serve the community while developing leadership skills and building lifelong connections.

Our members are women who share a commitment to volunteerism, collaboration, and improving the Greater Cleveland community through trained service and effective leadership.

We welcome women of diverse backgrounds, experiences, and professions who are eager to contribute their time, talents, and passion.

What Membership Offers

Volunteer Action

Members participate in hands-on service and community partnerships that address critical needs in Greater Cleveland. Through these experiences, members gain a deeper understanding of community challenges and help implement sustainable solutions.

Leadership Development

The League provides training and real-world leadership opportunities through committee service, project management, and organizational leadership roles. Members build skills in communication, nonprofit governance, fundraising, advocacy, and strategic planning.

Connection & Community

Membership offers a supportive network of women committed to service and leadership. Through League activities and social opportunities, members form meaningful friendships and professional connections. Every New Member is assigned a New Member Advisor who helps orient and train all New Members during their first year.

New Member Experience

Your first year of membership is designed to introduce you to the League, its mission, and its impact. New Members learn how the organization operates, build relationships, and participate in service and training opportunities.

This experience prepares members for active engagement and leadership within the League.

Membership is a commitment to service, leadership growth, and active participation. While requirements are structured to be manageable for busy professionals and caregivers, engagement and participation are essential to creating meaningful impact and a rewarding member experience.
