About Our Scholarship Programs

The Junior League of Cleveland has a long tradition of empowering women pursuing undergraduate and graduate education. Rooted in the League’s commitment to community service and leadership development, our scholarships aim to remove financial barriers and support women who are dedicated to community impact.

Two scholarship opportunities are currently offered through the Junior League of Cleveland:

JLC Scholarship Fund

The Junior League of Cleveland Scholarship Fund was established in 2004 to provide financial assistance to non-traditional women students, particularly those who had faced challenges and interruptions in their education. In 2011, the program expanded to also include women who had been in foster care. A committee of JLC members selects scholarship recipients each year and to date, the program has supported the educational dreams of over 50 women.

Susan Larson Scholarship Fund

Established through the generous support of JLC Sustainers, the Susan Larson Scholarship Fund honors the legacy of JLC Past-President Susan Larson, a passionate advocate for education and League volunteerism. This distinct scholarship offers opportunity and support for women pursuing degrees in early childhood education at Cleveland State University.

History & Mission

Since its inception, the Junior League of Cleveland Scholarship has been committed to investing in the education of women who are poised to make a difference in their communities. Our long-standing program reflects JLC’s mission to promote volunteerism, develop the potential of women, and improve communities through effective action and leadership.

The Susan Larson Scholarship Fund was created to further honor the League’s sustained impact through the generosity and dedication of its Sustainers. Susan Larson’s legacy lives on through opportunities extended to scholarship recipients each year.
