The Junior League of Cleveland Announces 2025 Scholarship Winners

August 8th, 2025 – The Junior League of Cleveland Announces 2025 Scholarship Winners — The Junior League of Cleveland (JLC) proudly announced the recipients of its 2025 scholarships during its Annual Meeting and Spring Together celebration on April 25, 2025. This year, five extraordinary women were awarded a total of $13,500 in scholarships to support their pursuit of higher education and career advancement.

The Scholarship for Women Reclaiming Their Education reflects the Junior League of Cleveland’s mission to advance women’s leadership and create meaningful community impact through volunteer action, collaboration, and training. Established in 2004, the program supports women who are returning to school after challenges or interruptions in their education. Since then, it has provided financial assistance to help over 60 women in Northeast Ohio pursue their degrees.

The 2025 JLC Scholarship Recipients are:

  • Chandra Bastola, Baldwin Wallace University — $5,000 Scholarship
  • LaMyja Jernigan, The University of Akron — $3,000 Scholarship
  • Paula Portis, Tiffin University — $2,000 Scholarship
  • LaDonna Harris, Cleveland State University — $2,000 Scholarship
  • Chanel Williams, Cleveland State University — $1,500 Scholarship

The JLC has been investing in the Greater Cleveland community for more than 110 years, with scholarships being one of the most impactful ways it advances women’s leadership. By supporting educational and career opportunities, the League helps empower women to continue driving change in their communities. “Each of our winners is rewriting what it means to pursue education on her own terms,” said Pamela Tyll Radisek, Scholarship Program Manager. “Their perseverance is inspiring, and we are honored to be part of their stories.”

This year’s scholarship presentation took place during the Spring Together event, the League’s annual meeting and largest fundraiser. The event celebrated the organization’s accomplishments, honored its members, and showcased the importance of investing in the next generation of women leaders.

The impact of this work is highlighted in the 2025 Scholarship Impact Report, which details the transformation of the program and the stories of past recipients. The full report can be accessed at (We should probably publish the impact report somewhere)
